Isaiah L. Potts (1784?- after 1843) was born in Loudoun County, Virginia and lived in Union County, Kentucky and Hardin County, Illinois. In history and folklore, he was known by many names and aliases including; Isaiah Luna Potts, William Potts, Billy or Billie Potts, Sr. Potts was an Illinois tavern keeper and salt maker who, allegedly, ran a gang of highwaymen and murderers, along a frontier highway near Cave-In-Rock and was an associate of James Ford. ==References== * Botkin, B.A. ''A Treasury of Mississippi River Folklore''.
